Dyson Dc-15 "The Animal" goods retell

Hearing the words of many who claim that Dyson is by far the best vacuum cleaner on the market, I sprang for the Dyson Dc-15 aka "The Animal".

The Setup: It came mostly put together, so I figured setup would be a breeze. Right? Wrong. I couldn't get the thing to work at all and had to call their buyer maintain folks. It turns out that the motor won't turn on in its full upright position. One has to press the foot pedal down and recline it backwards before it will work. That isn't particularly intuitive and if you want to construct a goods this way...fine, but make it a bit more inescapable and blatant...either in the instructions or with a seal on a machine. The buyer service population at Dyson were terrific in assisting me with my problem...so don't be embarrassed to call with slow-witted question.

Dyson Vacuum Review

Performance: The Dyson Dc-15 "Sucks"...and I mean this in the most complimentary way. It sucked up an unbelievable number of dirt. I vacuumed the house just twice and the dirt receptacle was totally full. My previous vacuum took months to fill the bag. If you have a pet, the Dyson Dc-15 is terrific...it picks up pet hair that other vacuums won't get. It was also terrific for cleaning an extremely dirty sofa.

The study manual tells you that in order to vacuum stairs; you use the vacuum the customary way, but use the wand attachment instead, leaving the full unit at the base of the stairs. The wand will stretch out adequate to get up ½ flight of stairs with ease and no discernable loss of operation is noticed when doing this.

Design: Be faithful when you try to empty the dirt canister the first time...I ended up dumping all the dirt on the floor and had to vacuum it up again. Unlike most vacuums, many of the Dyson attachments can't be stored on the unit itself...they are too big and bulky. I haven't had to use many of the attachments to date. according to the manual, clearing blockages appears to be relatively easy (unlike most vacuums)...I haven't had to do this yet.

The motor appears to be very sturdy yet is reasonably light to carry when emptied.

Conclusion: If you can get straight through the setup, you have one heck of a good motor that should last a long time and perform cleaning miracles.
